Snoop Dogg wants Jay Z to be a judge on his proposed talent show, “Hood Idol,” which would mimic “American Idol.”
“Hood Idol” is looking to find a hot new Hip Hop artist that wouldn’t succeed on today’s TV talent shows. According to CTV News, Snoop says American Idol is a great show, but he believes a show directed to urban music, “to the artists that don’t get the attention, that don’t have the money to make themselves representable,” he said, is necessary.
Snoop’s pitched the idea to TV networks including MTV, E!, NBC and Bravo, but none have picked up the show yet, and Jay Z has denied any involvement with the proposed show catered towards “the hood.”
Snoop isn’t new to TV. You may remember his “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood,” a reality show featured on E! that gave fans a glimpse of how the D-O-double G interacted with his kids and wife while balancing his entertainment career.
What’s up with Snoop and the word “hood”?
