Stacey Dash‘s beef with Black Entertainment Television is giving Meek Mill a run for his money. Her latest commentary claims that the network is hypocritical when it comes to diversity, an argument heard from the Clueless actress before.

“BET lies to American black people by telling them that the rest of America is racist, so stick close to your own kind, ” Dash’s blog post on Patheos read. Her words come days after an airing of Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” where the Oscar boycott prompted her to denounce the need for cultural representations geared towards African-American audiences—specifically BET and Black History Month. While Internet memes of her magazine covers and roles in black media questioned Dash’s bold statements, the golden glove of clapback went to BET.
The network posted a reminder to the actress of her stint on sitcom The Game, captioned, “Soooooo @REALStaceyDash can we get our check back… or nah? #Remember#YouWereOnTheGame #AndWeDontMeanTheRapper.” The President of Programming at BET Networks, Stephen Hill, added, “Aww dang. I loved you in Clueless. I had no idea that you actually were.”

Instead of a check, Dash snapped back with a hitlist, calling out BET and Hill in a blog post today for “throwing shade.” Her first target was The Game. “Thank you for reminding me, since most people have never heard of that show. Why? It’s on BET. Quick. Name the top shows on BET. Drawing a blank? I think I’ve made my point.” After its cancellation on CW, The Game premiered its fourth season on new home BET, becoming “the most-watched sitcom premiere in cable TV history,” according to the Chicago Tribune. The nine-season series lasted longer than the television spin-off for Clueless, which was pulled off air after three seasons. Dash’s final appearance on The Game was in the fourth season in 2011.
The BET programming president was up next. “Mr. Hill doesn’t understand what an Oscar is. Oscars are awarded to the actors and actresses who excel… not the audience,” the actress writes. Somehow President Barack Obama and his military decisions, which Dash has expressed a dislike towards in the past, were brought into the conversation to back up her argument.
When it came to the network itself, Dash cited an article from the National Review which suggests liberals are to blame for the racial divide in the United States. Bringing the article into context, she says, “I have a problem with the folks at BET absolutely freaking out when other institutions don’t match up to what they think is best.”
Dash signs off the piece as “an independent-thinking black woman.” BET and Hill have yet to respond.
